A simple explanation for pinhead Orange Progressives-why I fight the transfer station at Eubanks Jan 19 2008

This message is for all of the posers that somehow think a white boy like me has something under his sleeve as far as wanting to get rid of the landfill operations on Eubanks.

For all you closet racist, I-did-a-senior-thesis-on-the-Rogers-Road-area-therefore-I-care-type, latte sipping, trust fund living, non profit working posers out there, here it goes. Nomex or not.

I moved to Tallyho Trail from Greensboro in the late 80’s. I followed the last “landfill search/Site 17” doublecross and was outraged but did not speak out.

I got annexed involuntarily by the Town of Carrboro, in spite of my and many others’ objections. I learned a valuable lesson when that happened.

I am speaking out against Eubanks as a transfer station and will continue to do so because the same type of politicians that annexed me will crap all over Rogers Road if I don’t. They may yet crap on them in spite of my voice, but my voice will be loud and unwavering nonetheless.

My involvement has nothing to do about my or anyone else’s race, proximity to the landfill, `political gain, etc. For me, it is about keeping the crooks and schemers that seem to be running our town and county half way honest whenever possible. They need to be called out when they are wrong.

For once I wish the local government would do something that does not just line their own pockets. As Brian Voyce said a long time ago, we need to tax the daylights out of trash dumping and take the money to repay the Rogers Road folks for all they have done for our community. This means FREE (not the ridiculously high OWASA rate) water and sewer hookups (and financial aid to pay their bills if need be), bus service, sidewalks, etc.

There are a lot of whiners who think exporting our trash is wrong. To those I say, burn it in your back yard then. Rogers Road has done 10 times their share.

Good thing I invested in a large mobile storage facility, that was a huge flame!
