Cosmo Grateful For Opium Pit Voting Guide

Press the Image to Hear Opium Pit Praise

So, Cosmo was sitting around one day this week wondering for whom he should vote. Hmmm… the choices are many-democRAT, republiCAN, Independent. That's a fat joke. The politically nauseous “Indy” paper is so lame that the “Indy” has never endorsed an independent candidate in the history of Carrboro or Chapel Hill. Democrats only!

So, what is a mutha to do? Searching the web, I landed on a website named “Orange Politics”, but known to Cosmo more colorfully as the “Opium Pit”. It's full of doctrinaire voting advice, and has been very useful in helping Cosmo make up his mind. Here is the link:

For example, there's one post about a fellow named “Arrowwood”. He was deemed qualified for a judicial position by the blogsite posters (including Commish Mike Nelson putting in a special plug saying ”his election will .. create a more tolerant state”). His judicial ǘberqualification is his sexual orientation. Cosmo didn't realize until he went to this special website that being gay was important if you want to be a judge. If this is true, then how in the heck did all the other straight judges ever get elected??? This progressive logic sounded so strange to Cosmo, I decided to vote against this person, not because of sexual orientation, but because it didn't make sense to vote for someone merely on that basis. Sort of a reverse Justice Thomas argument.

Anyway the “Orange Politics” site provided a lot of information for me, so I could make an informed decision about voting. Based on the logic of Mr. Arrowwood's endorsement, I was able to vote against all of the people endorsed by that website. Boy, that was easy! Thanks Orange Politics!

And, by the way, shouldn't you change your name to “Orange Liberal Politics”, or “Orange Socialist Politics” or “Orange Facist Politics”, or something more accurate, like that? After all, Cosmo's friends in the county are into Orange politics, too, but not in the way that the facist “Orange Politics” site is. Seems to me they would get better readership if they changed their name to something that more reflects their true purpose.
