Bling Bling Bros. Bunkum & Bailout Circus!

Ladies and Gentlemen: In the center ring, we have a new show, the eco-poseur, almost-got-a-degree-in-architecture, dense building, creekside clear cutting, tax exempt business owner, Carnival Hand aka Mr. James Carnahan, chairman of the Carrboro Planning Board!!!

For his latest feat of eco-poseur expertise, Jocko will perform the debt-defying act of proclaiming that the Buckhorn Village mega retail complex will contribute to “global warming”, and thus should not be built! Yes, Carnival Hand challenges the Developer Dream Team aka John Fugo, George Horton, Roger Perry, Rosemary Waldorf et alia on their green street “creds”.

Wow! Such geniosity from the guy who is planning the carbon loading densification of Carrboro's northern area - be afraid, be very afraid! This wannabe architect cum regional planner, member of the Village People Project is so concerned about our environment and about making our hoods walkable that he’ll drive anywhere to preach dense growth.

This guy even tops Jim Warren of NC WARN, anti-energy guru who uses carbon loading electricity and carbon loading newsprint to post his diatribes. Who wants the crown of überposeur more? Seems everywhere you look here we are blessed with candidates.

Hey, Carnival Hand, why not share the love and move to Alamance County? They are really short of poseurs over there. They need experts like you whose idea of economic development is supporting taco trucks. If only you could bring retail to Carrboro that was one tenth of what Buckhorn Village will have. But wait, you only want “community” tax-exempt businesses. I see the light. You and Ms. Sinreich want to eradicate capitalism in Carrboro!

Or you can work really hard to get the Buckhorn Village project denied, so that ALL OF ORANGE COUNTY CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE TO DURHAM. (Nota Bene: I’ll still practice safe leakage.) What’s the matter, didn’t the Village People get a chance to join the BV Developer Dream Team and get a piece of the pie? Or is this just posing squared? Talking trash to get that Dream Team piece?

I got your global warming, right here, you facts optional small town urbanism expert!
