Really folks, it is simple. Which is probably why no one in charge has thought of it. Just like during WWII when Americans pulled together and put their Country first, here is what everyone needs to do:
Go out and buy an AMERICAN car if you are going to buy a car.
That's right, recycle your Consumer Reports and their love affair with Japanese cars.
American car manufacturers are making great cars. As good as and better in many ways (heavy duty design, reliable high tech controls etc) than their foreign counterparts. I own a Chevy with 235,000 miles on it, and two Fords with over 100,000 each. And unlike the foreign cars, they can all still smoke their tires from a standstill- an important requirement for any vehicle in Cosmo's fleet.
So do like Cosmo just did, go out and buy an American car. Spread the word, these are American jobs, American factories, and American Corporations most important of all. Not one cent of your purchase will profit Tokyo, Hamburg, etc. etc.
So, what are you waiting for? Have at it! If you wait for Congress to do something as usual it will be too late.
