In yet another astounding discussion amongst the Carrboro Boa, the “problem” of having foot races in and through Carrboro was slithered about at a recent meeting.

It seems that walking is of course fine, but running is not. Kind of like driving and parking in the eyes of the BOA.

While completely failing to recognize the positive influx of visitors' tax dollars during such road races, there was plenty of whining about the cost to pay town employees overtime.

Of course, it never would dawn on our flaccid ED (economically undereducated) leaders actually to charge off the costs to the town to the entity sponsoring the race…… nah that makes too much sense, and it isn't in the realm of “financial” experience for the non-profit Boa working folks.

I don't suppose it ever dawned on anyone that perhaps the reason that the fundraisers are “running” to Carrboro is that they are probably one of the few towns around that don't charge for such services?? Hmmmm.

Once again, your runaway tax dollars at work, Carrboro style.
